Estas estructuras y elementos estructurales bajo cargas cr\u00edticas incurren en la falla y por lo tanto es relevante conocer la respuesta de los mismos bajo esta condici\u00f3n. Tal es el caso de la estructura de centrales nucleares, dep\u00f3sitos radiactivos subterr\u00e1neos y superficiales, estructuras pretensadas, bases marinas de extracci\u00f3n de petr\u00f3leo &#8220;Off Shore&#8221;, etc.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En estos casos mencionados resulta de radical importancia poseer un conocimiento realista del comportamiento de falla y la posibilidad de poder caracterizarlo param\u00e9tricamente para su aplicaci\u00f3n num\u00e9rica computacional.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">El estudio de la falla del hormig\u00f3n se encuentra expresado en una extensa bibliograf\u00eda que analiza los diferentes aspectos te\u00f3ricos relativos a este estado. B\u00e1sicamente se reconocen los siguientes modos de falla: Modo I (tracci\u00f3n), Modo II (corte), Modo III (corte perpendicular) y otros modos producto de la combinaci\u00f3n de estos o aquellos m\u00e1s complejos propuestos por diversos autores. A\u00fan existe una discusi\u00f3n abierta en torno a la existencia de los modos de corte y sus combinaciones.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">No obstante, en la bibliograf\u00eda no existen suficientes estudios experimentales que permitan definir y analizar el comportamiento de falla seg\u00fan estos modos combinados, esta falencia genera una necesidad imperiosa de llevar a cabo trabajos experimentales confiables en este campo de la ciencia.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">En el presente proyecto se propone el desarrollo de un estudio experimental que provea informaci\u00f3n de relevancia con respecto al comportamiento de falla bajo un modo mixto corte-compresi\u00f3n, que constituye un caso que se presenta frecuentemente bajo estados multiaxiales.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">A partir del estudio propuesto se persiguen dos objetivos fundamentales: en primer lugar observar, mensurar e interpretar el comportamiento de falla bajo el modo mixto corte-compresi\u00f3n y en segundo lugar caracterizar al material de acuerdo al comportamiento observado y compararlo adem\u00e1s con sus par\u00e1metros de caracterizaci\u00f3n, tales como la resistencia a compresi\u00f3n, resistencia a tracci\u00f3n, etc.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seguidamente, se pretende analizar los resultados experimentales con simulaciones num\u00e9ricas computacionales, estudiar las diferencias existentes entre los diversos modelos constitutivos de hormig\u00f3n, sus par\u00e1metros y caracterizaci\u00f3n en el \u00e1mbito de este rango de comportamiento.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los resultados de este proyecto se podr\u00e1n utilizar para una mejor comprensi\u00f3n de la falla del hormig\u00f3n desde una visi\u00f3n mec\u00e1nica que ha de permitir el desarrollo de modelos y formulaciones constitutivas m\u00e1s realistas y eficientes, y por otro lado caracterizar al material y poder calificar al mismo seg\u00fan este comportamiento.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\"><strong>Abstract:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Concrete failure behavior is a theme of constant interest due to the use of this material in structural elements and structures whose behavior affects safety and\/or is associated to high cost. These structures and structural elements under critical loads have failure and, therefore, it is relevant to know their response in these conditions. This is the case of the structures in nuclear stations, on-surface and underground radioactive waste, prestressed structures, &#8220;Off Shore&#8221; oil maritime stations, etc.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In the cases mentioned it is highly important to have a real knowledge of failure behaviour and the possibility of being able to characterize it in a parametric way for a computational and numerical application. The study of concrete failure can be found in a wide bibliography that analizes the different theoretical aspects related to this state. Basically, the following failure modes are known: Mode I (opening mode), Mode II (sliding mode), Mode III (tearing mode) and other modes that are a combination of the ones mentioned before or those modes more complex proposed by different. There is still an open discussion about the existence of shear modes and their combinations.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nevertheless, in the existing bibliography there are not enough experimental studies that can define and analyze failure behaviour according to these combined modes. Therefore, there is an urgent need of carrying out reliable experimental tests in this field of science.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">In this project an experimental study that provides information about failure behaviour under a mixed shear-compression is proposed. This is a case frequently found under multiaxial stress states.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The main objectives of the study proposed are firstly: to observe, measure and evaluate failure behaviour under shear-compression mixed mode. Secondly, to characterize the material according to the behaviour observed and to compare it with its characterization parameters such as compression strength, tension strenght, etc.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">Then, the experimental results are going to be analyzed with numerical-computational simulations. The existing differences among the different constitutive concrete models, their parameters and characterization in this behaviour range are going to be studied.<\/p>\n<p class=\"texto\" style=\"text-align: justify;\">The results of this project are going to be used for a better understanding of concrete failure from a mechanical perspective which will allow the development of more realistic and efficient constitutive models and formulations.
