Esta p\u00e9rdida de resistencia generalmente es de corta duraci\u00f3n, pero suficiente para que el problema sea de considerable importancia tanto desde el punto de vista de la seguridad p\u00fablica como desde el aspecto econ\u00f3mico. Uno de los primeros pasos en el desarrollo de proyectos de ingenier\u00eda en zonas s\u00edsmicamente activas, es la evaluaci\u00f3n del potencial de licuefacci\u00f3n de los suelos existentes en el lugar, bajo la acci\u00f3n de las solicitaciones s\u00edsmicas de dise\u00f1o. La evaluaci\u00f3n del comportamiento de un suelo saturado bajo el efecto de acciones s\u00edsmicas requiere estimar el potencial desarrollo de grandes deformaciones o de p\u00e9rdida de resistencia que dan origen a desplazamientos o inestabilidad del terreno durante o con posterioridad a la ocurrencia de un terremoto. Para realizar una evaluaci\u00f3n cuantitativa del potencial de licuefacci\u00f3n, se puede recurrir a ensayos de laboratorio o al uso de relaciones emp\u00edricas que se desarrollaron a partir de correlaciones entre el comportamiento observado en el campo y resultados de ensayos in situ. Los procedimientos propuestos por la literatura t\u00e9cnica espec\u00edfica para la evaluaci\u00f3n del potencial de licuefacci\u00f3n de un suelo durante un terremoto dependen del tipo de suelo. El Reglamento de aplicaci\u00f3n en Argentina establece que la provincia de Tucum\u00e1n pertenece a una zona de peligrosidad s\u00edsmica moderada y por lo tanto ser\u00eda necesario valorar la susceptibilidad a licuefacci\u00f3n de los suelos. El objetivo general de este Proyecto es adoptar un procedimiento que permita realizar una evaluaci\u00f3n del potencial de licuefacci\u00f3n de los suelos presentes en San Miguel de Tucum\u00e1n, teniendo en cuenta para ello las acciones s\u00edsmicas de dise\u00f1o definidas en la reglamentaci\u00f3n vigente y diferentes estados tensionales del subsuelo. Para ello se realizar\u00e1n ensayos de campo y laboratorio, siguiendo un procedimiento que se definir\u00e1 teniendo en cuenta los aspectos necesarios en el an\u00e1lisis aplicado para avaluar el potencial de licuefacci\u00f3n del suelo.<\/p>\n<h4>Abstract<\/h4>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Soil liquefaction is a phenomenon in which soil loses much of its strength. This strength loss is generally of short duration but nevertheless long enough for liquefaction to be of considerable importance from both public safety and financial standpoints. The evaluation of the liquefaction potential of the soil in seismic areas under the design loads is one of the first steps in the development of engineering projects. Evaluating the behaviour of a saturated soil under the effect of seismic actions requires addressing the potential for significant strains or strength loss that can contribute to ground deformations or instability during or after the occurrence of an earthquake. In order to carry out a quantitative evaluation of the liquefaction potential, it is possible to use laboratory tests or empirical relationships based on the correlation of observed field behaviour with various in-situ index tests. The procedures proposed in the technical literature to estimate the liquefaction potential of a soil during an earthquake depend on the soil type. The Code used in Argentine considers that Tucum\u00e1n is included in a zone with moderate seismic activity and therefore it would be necessary to evaluate the susceptibility to liquefaction of the soils. The general objective of this Project is to adopt a procedure to carry out an evaluation of liquefaction potential of the soils existing in San Miguel de Tucum\u00e1n, taking into account the seismic actions defined in the code and different stress state in the subsoil.
