Description:

The works of interest in this Session are related to the development and/or the analysis of numerical techniques applicable to the resolution of boundary value problems, initial value problems, or mixed ones; including those based on the finite element method, the finite volume method, the finite difference method, the boundary element method, or others. The emphasis in these works is placed on the mathematical aspect and the foundations of the techniques applied, without limitation, therefore, in the particular application of the considered method. More specifically, the following topics comprise the scope of this Session: formulation of reduced models, technology of elements (e.g. enriched formulations), resolution methods for linear and non-linear equation systems, chimera methods or related local/global schemes, stabilization schemes, and studies on the existence and uniqueness of solutions to boundary value problems, among others subjects.
